Fresh tape packaging

Design Brief

The objective of this project was to design packaging for a gum product featuring three distinct flavors. The challenge was to ensure that the packaging for each flavor not only stood out on its own but also maintained a sense of relevance and cohesion with the overall brand aesthetic.

Solution

For my gum project, I drew inspiration from old-school rap music and named the gum brand "Fresh Tape," a nod to a rapper's cassette tape. Each flavor is uniquely packaged in a cassette-shaped box, with colors corresponding to the flavor profile. These individual flavored cassettes are then neatly housed in a larger box resembling a cassette player. To capture an authentic hip-hop aesthetic, I decided to go for hand-written typography. This approach aims to not only deliver a flavorful gum experience but also evoke a sense of nostalgia and authenticity reminiscent of the old-school rap era.
